Refers to a type of hardwood imported from China during the Edo period, primarily originating from Southeast Asia.
The wood is hard, dense, has a high specific gravity, is glossy, and has minimal warping, making it highly valued for high-end furniture, pillars, and decorative items. Ebony and rosewood are well-known examples.

After using the hairpin, please gently wipe the entire piece with a soft, clean cloth. Oils from fingerprints can become noticeable stains later, so please wipe them off carefully. Regular maintenance is simple; apply plant oil or beeswax with a cotton cloth.
●Waterproofing
To enhance the wood's waterproof and anti-corrosive properties, two types of coatings are used: a urethane-based resin paint and a penetrating paint. Both are safe paints that comply with food sanitation laws. It is fine if it gets wet in the bath, but please wipe off any moisture after use.
